Bean there – will go again

OUR top Liverpool breakfast recommendation for August is Barley & Beans. Located in Hatton Garden just off Dale Street, the coffee lounge which is full of character is rivalling popular city destinations for casual food in comfortable surroundings. Offering a varied menu from the classic Full English to Eggs Benedict and American-style waffles with bacon, Barley and Beans have a ‘stay and relax’ approach to dining. Owner, Nick Strauss said: “We offer more than just great eggs and top service. Barley and Beans is a social venue. If you want to come in and enjoy great food with friends that’s great, or you may just want to be in a laid-back place with great coffee and browse the internet – we’ve made sure there are plenty of plug sockets available for those wanting to plug in and get comfortable. The venue has become popular with students and city professionals alike. As well as this weekend brunch and Sunday lunch are very much in demand. Nick added: “After a lot of research it became evident that Liverpool City Centre is missing somewhere for people to relax after breakfast. We won’t rush anyone out or expect a time limit on tables. This is a place where diners can feel at home.”
