NORTHERN Power Women, the collaborative campaign that aims to accelerate gender diversity from the North of England, has announced nominations are now open for its annual awards.
Now in their fifth year, the awards recognise both female and male leaders who offer significant contributions towards promoting gender equality in and from the North.
Simone Roche, founder of Northern Power Women, said that as the awards continued to grow, their popularity showed how many more businesses recognising both the importance and benefits of a gender diverse workforce.
“We’re continuing to see more and more individuals and businesses committing to enhancing gender diversity and there’s a growing momentum here in the North that is now starting to influence people all over the country.”
As part of the Northern Power Women Awards, the campaign will also announce the 2020 Power List, which celebrates women who work to improve equality, diversity and gender balance in the workplace, and the 2020 Future List, which recognises the 50 influencers and change makers of the future who are already making a difference in their environments and communities.
Simone added: “At our awards last year we launched the #WeCan campaign, which offers people the opportunity to make a commitment to how they will personally help to promote gender equality.
“So far, through this campaign, we’ve received more than 2000 commitments and from among those commitments we’ve seen examples of championing diversity, initiatives, being unapologetically bold, visible and advocating for the underrepresented”
The Northern Power Women Awards consist of 10 categories and offer opportunities for individuals – both women and men – and businesses to be nominated. The categories are:
Agent of Change, Innovation, Outstanding Entrepreneur, Innovation, Mentor of The Year, Transformational Leader, Person with Purpose, One to Watch, Future List, Power List, Small Organisation, Medium Organisation and Large Organisation.
Nominations can now be submitted through https://www.northernpowerwomen.com/awards/ and will remain open until midnight on7th November 2019.
The 2020 Northern Power Women Awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner before more than 800 people in Manchester on 16th March 2020.
