Wham show coming to the Epstein

A NEW show is coming to Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre, featuring the very best of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley in The Best of WHAM! on Friday 11 May.

It is 37 years since the pop duo formed one of the most enduring groups of the 80s. In four short years WHAM! sold more than 28 million records, topping the charts with three albums, four number one singles and eleven top ten hits.

They featured in the Live Aid concert of 1985 and were the first western pop group to ever tour in China.

The Best of WHAM! includes all those greatest hits, a few B side favourites and a couple of early George Michael bonus songs.

This brand new concert show stars Craig Webb, performing as George Michael. Craig made his TV debut on Gary Barlow’s talent search Let It Shine, which aired live in February 2017 on BBC1. He made it to the quarter finals, where he performed with Busted

Producer Sweeney Entertainments, co-founded by Julie and Peter Sweeney, has been providing a wide repertoire of top quality touring shows for theatre and corporate events for over fifteen years both in the UK and internationally. 2017 was the company’s strongest year to date with more shows touring than ever before and 2018 brings even more new shows and UK tour dates.

Julie said: “We are thrilled to be presenting this amazing new show to venues across the UK – this is a non-stop WHAM! party that is sure to leave audiences singing and dancing the whole way home!”

Theatre manager, Rebekah Pichilingi, said: “We are so excited to have this show on our stage for what is guaranteed to be a fantastic night of great music and entertainment. The music of WHAM! includes some of the best feelgood music from the 80’s so it’s certain to have the audience dancing and singing along all night long.”
