THE Liverpool Empire Creative Learning department is launching its first ever Showstoppers production, a bi-annual event celebrating a spectacular showcase of local talent. The production is packed with talent, involving up to 100 performers from the local community and dance schools including the Liverpool Empire Youth Musical Theatre Company, Junior Youth Theatre, Mini Musical Stars and Mature Movers as well as students from Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre. The Creative Learning Department is constantly working to provide opportunities for the local community to engage creatively with the theatre. Many of the participants also attend other performing arts schools in the city and Showstoppers provides an opportunity for them to build upon what they’ve already learnt, putting those skills and techniques into practice and gaining valuable performance experience at the same time.Creative Learning Manager, Natalie Flynn said, “We come across so many amazingly talented performers that we wanted to create something new that gives them all an opportunity to be involved. With a specific production you’re limited by the characters and the demands of that particular show but there’s less restrictions when putting on a showcase.  From our youngest performer who is 6 to our eldest, who is in their 80s, everyone gets their moment to shine.”Performance InformationShowstoppers 2016Monday 18th – Tuesday 19th April 2016, 7.30pmTickets from £13.25 (£15.15 online/phone)To book visit the Empire’s Box Office, call 0844 871 3017* or go to**booking fees apply
