A NEW state-of-the art special school has opened in Liverpool to support children across Merseyside who have a range of complex educational needs.
Cavendish View School is the latest addition to Education Services run by Ambito Care and Education (part of the Salutem Group), which also has a nursery in Liverpool, Walton Early Years Centre, located next to the new school.
The new Cavendish View School is for children aged 5-11 years and will provide a nurturing and stimulating education for pupils with a range of SEND. The school will be offering placements to students who live in Liverpool, Halton, St. Helens and other neighbouring authorities.
Lyndsey Murphy, Principal of Cavendish View School, said: “At Cavendish View the possibilities are endless. We are committed to supporting the children here to thrive regardless of their background or needs. We are so excited for children to join us and explore all the amazing resources, rooms and facilities we have here.”
Kelley Fray, Managing Director of Ambito Care and Education (part of the Salutem Group) stated: “We are so proud to announce the opening of Cavendish View and look forward to providing an outstanding resource to the children and young people of the region.”
Cavendish View School provides a wide range of highly resourced, specialist classrooms, delivering both small group and 1-1 teaching, with an overall capacity of 42 pupils. They provide a small, supportive environment delivering high standards of education and support to students, designed to meet the individual needs of each student.
In addition to offering students specialised support and care, it has several unique features, including interactive classrooms, a sensory room, a therapy room, a science lab, a soft-play room and an adventure garden.
The school will work in close partnership with the parents and carers of students to ensure successful outcomes are achieved. A Family Liaison Officer is available to support families and other external stakeholders, ensuring every student has a positive start to their placements at Cavendish View and provides ongoing support throughout their educational journey.
