FORMER LFC footballer Bruce Grobbelaar is set to star as The Genie at Otterspool Advenure’s pantomime this Christmas.
Teaming up with pantomime producers LHK Productions, Otterspool Adventure are bringing some Christmas cheer to Liverpool by hosting the children’s classic pantomime, Aladdin.
Bruce will also be joined by Yonah Higgins from 90’s pop trio Cleopatra, playing ‘The Spirit Of The Ring’.
He said: “I am looking forward to getting into the festive spirit more than ever this year. Aladdin is one of my children’s favourite stories and brings back lots of fond memories. Lockdown has given me a chance to sculpt my Genie physique and bring back my moustache out of retirement!”
The festivities will start on 28th of November, with shows taking place every Saturday and Sunday until the 20th of December and then also on the 23rd and 24th.
Guests will also be able to visit Santa’s grotto for photos, make a bear with Santa’s elves, take part in gingerbread decorating and enjoy story time with Mrs Claus. Little ones can also visit Santa’s toy shop to choose their own gift. In addition to this, there will be an on-site ice-skating rink and full access to the park’s outdoor activities.
Director at Otterspool Adventure Cheryl Cosgrove said: “We’re excited to be starting work on this year’s Christmas pantomime with such a fantastic cast and production team lined up. We’re lucky to have a large space that works perfectly for events like these, capturing the magic of Christmas in a safe, socially distanced setting.”
