LFC Foundation launches £100k Community Fund

LFC Foundation, the official charity of Liverpool Football Club, has announced that £100,000 of the funds raised from this year’s LFC Legends Charity Match will be donated to local charities in Merseyside.

The fund aims to help grassroots charities in Merseyside that support children and young people in Merseyside who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect; which aligns with the LFC Foundation’s mission to create life changing opportunities for children and young people.

Matt Parish, Director of LFC Foundation, said: “We’re extremely excited to be launching the LFC Foundation Community Fund; which means that we can support the numerous smaller charities that do fantastic work and share our values. Together we can help so many more children and young people in Merseyside.”

The new LFC Foundation Community Fund has been organised in association with local charity, Radio City’s Cash for Kids, which will support the administration of the fund and the allocation of individual grants.

Carole Clare, Charity Manager for Cash for Kids, said: “We are very grateful and delighted to be a beneficiary of the LFC Legends Charity Match and to be working with the Liverpool FC Foundation. It is a fabulous opportunity for us to be able to administer and distribute the LFC Foundation Community Fund. We work with a large number of diverse organisations who look after children with a wide variety of different needs, we urge those organisations and any that we haven’t worked with before to take advantage and apply for a grant from this fund. Thank you again to the LFC Foundation, this will make a huge difference to our local children.”

Registered charities who meet the eligibility criteria will be able to apply for grants of up to £3,000, and potentially more in exceptional circumstances.

The £100,000 fund will be awarded to charities during the next 12 months, with two application windows, in June and September 2019. The first round of applications will open in April 2019.
