TWO days of Christmas extravaganza fun will take place at Liverpool Shopping Park this weekend (Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December 2018).
The festivities begin on Friday 7th December with performances from four local primary school choirs as part of a fundraising concert for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Performances will start at 9am with Kensington Primary School and local school children will be collecting donations.
The Radio City Breakfast Show team will make their Liverpool Shopping Park debut on Friday as they broadcast live and encourage shoppers to donate a gift to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal. The Mission Christmas appeal aims to ensure every local child receives a present this Christmas and shoppers can drop off their donations at several of Liverpool Shopping Park’s stores. Breakfast Show presenters Dave and Leanne will be outside M&S Food Hall from 5am to 2pm.
On Saturday 8th December, fundraising fun will continue with the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation as their festive elves hand-out mince pies, donated by Greggs, for a small donation. Father Christmas will also make a visit and 500 free Christmas stockings, full of treats from the park’s retailers, will be given away to shoppers. Shoppers will also be invited to take part in a ‘Name the Bear’ competition for a chance to take a £200 teddy bear home.
Karen Wild, general manager of Liverpool Shopping Park said: “We’ve always wanted the shopping park to be at the heart of the local community so what better way than to support two fantastic local charities. There’s a full programme of activity across the Friday and Saturday and some great give-aways. We look to forward to welcoming shoppers to Liverpool Shopping Park.”
Liverpool Shopping Park opened in October 2017 and is home to retailers including H&M, River Island, Boots, M&S Food Hall and Smyths Toys. The park also features the world’s largest Mecanno Liver Bird, which stands at 11 metres tall in the centre of the park.
