In photos: Liverpool captured in 24 hours

A DAY in the life of Liverpool has been captured in a 24-hour social experiment that saw more than 50 professional and amateur Liverpool-based photographers take to the streets on Saturday 20th October to capture the life and times of the city in 2018.

The ‘A Day In The Life’ project documented the unique people and places that make Liverpool so special: from the passion of its football fans and its glamorous Saturday shoppers; to its stunning architecture and its cutting edge artistic creations.

Led by award-winning street photographer, Mark Waugh, the photographers covered the length and breadth of Liverpool, generating over 1,000 images, taking one every two minutes between midnight to midnight.

Over the course of the day, the 50-strong team of photographers recorded:

  • Morning strollers enjoying the glorious Liverpool seafront
  • Buskers entertaining the people revelling in the lively Liverpool nightlife
  • Commuters travelling to and from Liverpool Lime Street Station
  • Colourful street performers bringing a smile to Bold Street
  • Saturday shoppers being entertained by street acrobats
  • Families exploring the picturesque Albert Docks
