HOUSEBUILDER Stewart Milne Homes has donated two giant Christmas trees, bringing festive cheer to patients and staff at Wirral’s Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals.
The Christmas trees, which are 22ft and 18ft in height, were delivered to Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust over the weekend and will be displayed at the main entrances of the two hospitals throughout the Christmas period.
Staff from Stewart Milne Homes and hospital nursing staff, officially switched on the lights last week.
This is the second year that the housebuilder has provided trees for the two hospitals and Stewart Milne Homes hopes to build on these donations, as part of a longer relationship with the hospital trust.
David Allison, Chief Executive of Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: “Spending any amount of time at hospital during the festive season can be tough and we try wherever we can to make the experience as easy as possible. Thousands of people will pass through our hospital doors this Christmas and our trees will be the first thing they will see.
“This kind donation from Stewart Milne Homes for yet another year, will help to spread some festive cheer among the patients, their families and our staff who will be working around the clock this Christmas.”
Stewart Milne Homes is in the process of constructing a new community of 180 new family homes at its Upton Pines development on Arrowe Park road near the village of Upton.
