EMERGING Liverpool-based social media agency start-up Social Burst have cause to celebrate, having been selected as the recipient of Orega’s #STARTMEUP 2017 award for Liverpool. After being chosen as one of five new business finalists to present their business plan, Social Burst’s three founders – Alex Lloyd, Dave Tompkins and Scott Evans – were able to share their agency’s vision to a prestigious group of judges.
Presenting to an assembled panel of Orega co-founders Zachary Douglas and Paul Finch, oneHR founder Victoria Brown, founder & CEO of Downtown in Business, Frank McKenna, and Dave Brown, founder of award-winning mobile agency Apposing, Social Burst showcased their plan to offer clients quality organic social media growth.
This vision clearly resonated with the judges in attendance, as Social Burst – founded earlier this year – were named as Orega’s winning business for Liverpool. The award also comes with six months of high-quality office space at 20 Chapel Street in Liverpool city centre, with a value of £10,000.
Paul Finch, co-founder of Orega, said: “We were very impressed with the enthusiasm and passion shown by the finalists, they did themselves proud. We felt that Alex, Scott and Dave from Social Burst deserved to win as they had the most viable business for scaling up now and therefore the greatest need for an Orega office.”
Alex Lloyd, Managing Director of Social Burst said: “The whole process has helped us shape the direction of our business. It was great to be able to pitch in front of established business owners, and we were very happy to win. This is going to propel our company forward in 2018.”
