6 things in Liverpool to get you in the Christmas spirit

WE know it’s early, and some of us don’t want to think about ‘the C word’ until December, but like it or not, the Christmas spirit is just around the corner.

If, like many people, you need a little nudge to help get in the seasonal mood, we’ve found some great ideas all over Merseyside…

1 – Pick your tree

Rainford’s Christmas Tree Land in Saint Helen’s offer trees from 4ft to 50ft ranging from just £20.

With a barn filled with festive cheer, you can pick up everything you need to fill your home for the season of good will from lights to decs to quirky additions.

The kids will have a great time wondering around the tree forest where they can choose their tree – and you can have it delivered or pick it up at a later date to suit you – just pop your name on the tag and it’s all yours!

While you’re there – just across the free car park is The Dog Barn, which for the past year has welcomed Santa Paws for your pooch to visit.

Without spending a penny, you can treat your pup to a visit to the special grotto, as long as he’s not on the naughty list!

No booking necessary – Santa Paws will be visiting on Fridays 8th, 15th & 22nd from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and Sundays 10th & 17th from 12pm to 3pm.

Pantomimes are always a key promotion in Liverpool’s seasonal calendar and there’s loads to choose from. At Good News Liverpool, we usually base our favourite on the best Panto Dame, which for the past few years has been Epstein Theatre’s brilliant Michael Chapman.

Peter Pan kicks off on Friday December 8 with Another Level’s Dane Bowers and Radio City 2’s Claire Simmo as stars of the stage.

Liverpool’s own Lewis Pryor will play the lead role of Peter Pan. Lewis appeared in 2016’s series of Britain’s Got Talent, finishing 3rd place in the Live Finals as a member of dance troupe Boogie Storm after receiving the coveted Golden Buzzer spot from Simon Cowell.
