Inciner8 blazes a trail at Merseyside Independent Business Awards

Inciner8

INCINER8 was the major winner at this year’s Merseyside Independent Business Awards.

The Southport-based business, which manufactures thermal waste treatment and incinerator technology, won the Trades & Manufacturing Business award and was also named as the overall Merseyside Independent Business of the Year.

With customers in more than 170 countries across the world and a succession of new international contracts, the company was praised by the judges for its export achievements.

The awards were presented in front of 500 guests at a glittering ceremony at Liverpool’s Rum Warehouse. Inciner8 will receive a business support package led by Morecrofts Solicitors, which hosts and organises the awards.

A total of 15 awards were handed out on the night and winners included Walton Flooring Centre, which was named Retailer of the Year, Bold Street favourite Maray, which won Restaurant of the Year and the Richmond apart-hotel, which took home the Place to Stay award.

Accountancy firm BW Macfarlane also recorded a double success, winning the Business & Professional Services award while managing partner Peter Taaffe was named Independent Businessperson of the Year.

Wirral-based accountancy practice Woods Squared was named Best Employer, LWV Printworks took home the Digital & Technology category, Zut won Best Creative Business and The Construction Impact Framework scooped the Community Impact Award.

Liverpool’s Everyman & Playhouse prevailed in the Culture & Tourism category, Thornton Legal was named Best Start Up and the Health & Beauty award was won by The Spa @ Suites Hotel in Knowsley.

For the first time ever, a special Judges’ Award was presented to Caz’s Kitchen, while there were also commendations for Beauty & Holistic Lounge and digital technology agency Connect.

This year’s Merseyside Independent Business Awards, now in their fifth year and headline sponsored by Liverpool BID Company, attracted the highest-ever number of nominations and the awards ceremony itself sold out in advance.

Alison Lobb, managing partner of Morecrofts Solicitors, said: “The calibre and volume of entries for this year’s MIB Awards surpassed all previous years, so every shortlisted nominee should feel very proud of what they’ve achieved.

“The region is a hotbed for independent business talent and it’s important that we may continue to honour their successes through these awards.

“Inciner8 is a very worthy winner of the main award and its achievements serve as an example of what can be accomplished when a local independent business is innovative and determined to maximise market opportunities.”
