The Italian Club celebrate 10 years of serving authentic Italian food

THE Italian Club, described as one of the most charismatic eateries in our city is celebrating 10 years in business.

The Bold Street favourite with its elegance and simplicity, high ceilings and walls graced with an artful selection of cultural maps, family photographs and paintings is unique to the street.

Owners & real life partners Rosaria Crolla and Maurizio Pelligrini designed the deli-restaurant in 2007 which has been celebrated by the likes of Giles Coren in The Times and Olive magazine which have featured it in their top 10 Italian restaurants in the UK.

Firm favourites over the years include the bruschetta valter, a serving of toasted bread beneath fresh cherry tomatoes and delectably creamy goats cheese drizzled with olive oil, garlic and basil – a reminder as Rosaria puts it “that simple dishes executed finely are often the best. The antipasto misto, a beautiful selection of Italian cured meats and grilled vegetables, had Giles Coren swooning!”

“Oven-baked dishes such as the melanzane alla parmigiana in which aubergines are layered with homemade tomato sauce before being topped with mozzarella and parmesan have repeatedly received rave reviews.”

Since the birth of The Italian Club, the pair have opened The Italian Club Fish on the same street and more recently The Italian Club Bakery.

Rosaria added: “Liverpool is a family city and all we’ve tried to do is bring our own families’ culture of wining, dining and entertainment to Bold Street and we are so grateful to everybody who has supported us.”
