WE’VE teamed up with Dogs Trust Merseyside to help them find loving homes for some of their gorgeous dogs. Here’s this month’s selection.
Dog Age: 4
Kathy is a stunning Akita who has settled in to life at Merseyside quite happily. Not much is known about her background but she’s looking for someone who can teach her how to play. She knows the basics – throw the toy and she’ll follow it but once she gets to it, she doesn’t have a clue what to do next! She’s a friendly girl with lots of typical breed traits and would flourish with someone who knows Akitas.
Kathy gets along with other dogs and will happily walk with them, but she does seem to enjoy her own company so may be best as the only dog in the home. She can live with children aged 14 and above.
Dog Age: 3
Troy is a smashing lad who loves to relax in his kennel. His background is a mystery and though he seems a little shy at times, he finds confidence with other dogs. He loves to lean against you when he’s having a fuss, a typical Lurcher trait! Troy doesn’t seem to play much but the team think maybe he just doesn’t know how – he’d love a new family that can show him.
Troy is looking for a patient family that will take each day at a time and let him settle in. He enjoys a fuss but can be a little worried if he is over handled, so he’s going to be better in a home with children aged 14 and above. He gets along very well with other dogs but prefers calm ones.
Dog Age: 2
Ralf is a friendly boy who loves to say hello to everyone, canine or human, and is making friends very quickly. He is often found in the off lead play area, having a ball with one of his canine chums, but he is prone to getting over excited!
He will happily entertain himself too, and adores playing with soft toys and will make a beeline for those, rather than squeakies or balls. Ralf walks beautifully on his lead and he’s going to need lots of exercise to burn off all his youthful energy, so he’s looking for an active family, with children aged 16 and over. He would benefit from a few more training classes with Dogs Trust Dog School Merseyside so he can fulfil his true potential.
