HERE’S this month’s selection of gorgeous dogs from Dogs Trust Merseyside and we’re delighted to report that all three of last month’s dogs have found homes!
Breed: Labrador hound cross
Dog Age: 5
Bouncy Roger is a very playful chap, particularly when it comes to other dogs. He is well mannered with his canine chums and very tolerant of the livelier ones! He’s a friendly dog in general and happy to go out for walkies with many of the volunteers. Roger is looking for a calm household, with a family that will be patient with him, as he isn’t overly keen on being handled and can be aloof at times. Roger doesn’t like to be left alone so will need a family with someone at home most of the day. He is a huge fan of other dogs and would benefit from living with a sociable canine companion.
Roger is a clever boy and his hound characteristics make for a very curious dog so he will need to be kept busy – he would enjoy searching and rooting out interesting hidden treats, as well as being allowed to sniff practically everything he encounters on a walk!
Dog Age: 4
Fifi is a friendly girl who is looking for a quiet life, now that her racing days are behind her. She adores being with people and looks to her handlers for comfort and reassurance, often leaning on them as she walks alongside. She is quite worried by this new change in her life so is looking for a lovely family to help her settle into her new one.
Fifi is a little wary of other dogs at present and although she’ll happily walk alongside them, at the moment she’ll need to be the only dog in the home until she is a little more socialised. She can live with children aged 12 and above.
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross
Dog Age: 7
Sun worshipper Rolo is a typical lively Staffy cross. This handsome 7 year old is looking for a home through no fault of his own, and hoping to find a family who will keep him supplied with toys as he loves them so much. Rolo is very affectionate and loves to greet people with a kiss!
Rolo gets along well with other dogs but due to a bad experience in the past, he can be wary if they jump at him. He has lived with a dog previously and happily goes for walkies with anyone. He does like to jump up and can be a little excitable, so he would suit living with children no younger than 12.
