Waterloo Beer Festival returns at Old Christchurch

REAL Ale Events are once again filling the historic venue with over 100 different real ales and ciders. The popular Waterloo Beer Festival is now in its eighth year, running biannually. The festival is running right across the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th April, with six sessions to choose from. There will be ales from microbreweries all over the country and beers from the local Liverpool Organic Brewery showcased on hand pull. Although the festival’s main attraction is the wide range of real ales, the Real Ale Events team have added in a new feature in the form of an Indoor Gin Garden, boasting more than 15 unique gins from distilleries around the UK. There will also be a choice of red and white wines and prosecco. The festival has always attracted the local Crosby and Waterloo crowds, as well as beer aficionados from further afield. Tickets start at £5, with the entry price including each customer’s own souvenir glass and colour programme to take away. Local food providers Peninsula Pies and Liverpool Cheese Company will be providing hot and cold snacks throughout the event, plus there will be sweet treats from Liverpool Cake Company. There will also be live music across the weekend from local talent to get customers in the festival mood. Katie Jones, Events Director at Real Ale Events, said: “We are now in our eighth year of Waterloo Beer Festival and it just keeps growing in popularity. “Dan, our Beer Coordinator, has lined up plenty of old favourites alongside some new breweries and beers so there is something to tempt all tastes.” For more information on the event and to buy tickets, visit www.realaleevents.com
