Footman Tours Back By Popular Demand

THE Footman Tours return to St Georges’s Hall this March.Initially launched as a one-off event at the venue in August 2016, but due to huge public demand they were extended until the end of October 2016.Now the popular tours are back for 2017 and set to be open as a regular attraction commencing from Saturday 4 March. The tours will take place every weekend with two tours each Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 1pm.Visitors are once again invited to discover the magnificent Grade I listed building’s hidden depths and unseen places – from the old rickety wooden structures of the dark corridors above The Great Hall, to the recently discovered lost tunnel.Join the Hall’s time-travelling footmen, dressed in Restoration costume who will lead the tour while entertaining and engaging their audience with fascinating stories about the development of the city dating back to the 1600s and bring to light the mysterious tales of what truly lies beneath our feet.St George’s Hall manager, Alan Smith said: “I am really delighted that we are able to now launch the Footman Tours as a regular feature at St George’s Hall. The tour has a wonderful sense of mystery and unveils all the secrets from the building and city’s incredible history and undiscovered heritage. When we trialled it last August we had a fantastic response and I knew that it was something the public would really love, so I am certain they will be a welcome return.”Each tour will run for 1hr 30mins after which guests can enjoy a Footman Afternoon Tea Package in the Heritage Centre and enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality in one of Liverpool’s most prized possessions. This is not an average walking tour and you will require a level of fitness and agility as you weave your way through the steep and narrow passageways, the rickety roof top structures and the long winding staircases. For more information on St George’s Hall, visit DETAILSEvent: Footman Tours at St Georges HallDate: Every Saturday and Sunday (from 4th March)Time: Tours take place at 11am and 1pmTickets: Prices are £20 for the tour and £29 for the tour plus afternoon tea in the Heritage Centre Café (plus £2.25 fulfilment fee per booking)Capacity: 15 people per tourVENUE DETAILSSt George’s Hall, The Great Hall, St George’s Place, Liverpool L1 1JJBOOKING DETAILSPurchase in person at TicketQuarter, Echo Arena Liverpool, Kings Dock, Liverpool L3 4FP, online at or on 0844 800 0410.
