Meet Children’s Illustrator Nick Sharratt At New Exhibition In Knowsley

THE illustrator of Jacqueline Wilson and Jeremy Strong books will host workshops with children as his ‘Pirates, Pants & Wellyphants’ exhibition officially opens at Kirkby Gallery on Saturday, February 4.

Nick’s work will be familiar to many parents and young people, either from the picture books he has authored and illustrated himself, or the distinctive illustrations he has produced for writers such as Jacqueline Wilson and Jeremy Strong.

Now, you can see both Nick and his artwork in Knowsley when the Pirates, Pants and Whellyphants exhibition opens in Kirkby Gallery on Saturday, February 4.

At the exhibition, you can discover how Nick became an illustrator and produced some of the most recognisable, children storybook artworks.

Take the opportunity to explore some of his books, participate in fun activities, and let your imagination and creativity run wild.

Nick Sharratt himself will be in Kirkby Gallery on the opening day of the exhibition – Saturday 4 February from 10am to 4pm.

Show Nick your creative side and help him design a giant picture and paint a giant cardboard pirate ship. There are plenty of other arty activities and competitions to join in that will be going on as well.

You can find a new book to buy on the day and have it signed by Nick or you can even get your favourite book signed.

The exhibition is open from 4 February until 22 April 2017 and you can find Kirkby Gallery at Kirkby Centre, Norwich Way L32 8XY

Schools and family groups are welcome to come to the gallery, and make the most of the interactive activities and fun stuff there is to do. By visiting the gallery and exhibition, young people are able to work towards their Arts Award or their ‘Passport to Learning’ as part of the Children’s University.

Schools can book a visit by contacting Tina Ball on 0151 443 5617 or
