Everton’s Anti-Homelessness Charity Campaign Joins Forces With JOE.Co.Uk

EVERTON Under-23 manager David Unsworth has made a signing with a difference this January and joined forces with leading men’s premium lifestyle and entertainment platform,

The collaboration will see JOE become the official media partner of the Under-23 ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ fundraising campaign which will support young people on the brink of homelessness across the city of Liverpool.

The newly founded partnership is a Premier League first between a football club and a digital media platform. will be kept up-to-date with all the news surrounding the campaign and will share exclusive video and written content with its extensive and highly engaged audience.

Launched in December, ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ is a project devised by Everton legend Unsworth and Everton in the Community Executive Chair Denise Barrett-Baxendale. The initiative will see the FA Cup winner, along with his full squad of Under-23 players and backroom staff, deliver a number of fundraising events throughout the season.

The goal is to reach a target of £230,000, which will be used to fund and develop a supported living initiative for young people in Liverpool, which will then be delivered by Everton in the Community.

Funds raised will specifically be used to purchase, and operate, a house in the shadows of Goodison Park which will offer 16-23-year-olds who have fallen on hard times, or have perhaps fallen out of the care system, a place to stay in Merseyside. Aside from offering young adults a roof over their head in difficult times, the Club’s official charity will play a large part in their development by providing them with access to key services including health and wellbeing support and assistance with education, employment and training as well as encouraging them to contribute to the local community through the NCS programme and volunteering.

Speaking on his new signing, David Unsworth said: “It is a massive coup for us to work with JOE on this campaign. Their online dominance will ensure that as many people as possible are learning about what we are trying to achieve, and hopefully will be encouraged to get involved and lend their support.”

Will Hayward, JOE Media CEO, added: “We are honoured to be partnering with Everton Football Club on the ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ initiative. As a men’s publisher, we delight in entertaining men across Britain on the things they care about most, and sport is by far one of the biggest. We also have a fundamental role to support, nurture and educate, which we take very seriously. This couldn’t be a more perfect way of doing that. We’re excited to see how we’ll be able to bring this campaign to the masses.”
