Liverpool Peace Proms 2017 – Peace Through Music

PEACE Proms UK 2017 is a free music education programme for primary schools which will culminate in a large-scale choral and orchestral performance at Echo Arena Liverpool on 28 January 2017. Recognised as an invaluable international Arts Education & Peace initiative, the programme already engages over 30,000 children from 500 Irish schools in music performance each year, giving them the opportunity to sing in a large-scale production with a choir of 3,000 children, sing with leading professional conductors and soloists, sing at Echo Arena Liverpool and sing with a full symphony youth orchestra. Peace Proms is for all primary school choirs whether established or starting out, and for all teachers whether experienced choir directors or less experiences. The musical programme is tailor made to ensure it is fun and engaging for children, fulfils important educational requirements, is very rewarding to teach, and the end performance is an inspirational and thrilling experience for choirs, teachers, parents and audiences alike. The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland, CBOI, is Ireland’s most celebrated and award winning youth orchestra, and will be the featured Orchestra for Peace Proms UK 2017. Established in 1995 as a peace initiative, the CBOI has performed to sell out audiences at many major venues throughout the world including Carnegie Hall New York; the Royal Albert Hall, London; Boston Symphony Hall; Chicago Symphony Hall; and the Oriental Arts Centre Shanghai; the World Trade Expo, Shanghai where they won an international music award for “Outstanding Performance”.
