Crime Author Event At Huyton Library

IF you’re a fan of crime drama and fiction you won’t want to miss Knowsley’s new crime author event – Crime Scene – Call the Experts – in Huyton Library on Saturday 26 November from 11am to 12.30pm. Crime author, Margaret Murphy – who writes as A.D. Garrett and who has just published Truth Will Out – and her Forensic Crime Collaborator, Helen Pepper, who advises on TV crime dramas Vera and Shetland, are returning for the special event. They will be joined by Mari Hannah, author of the Kate Daniels crime series, and retired Detective Inspector, Mo Dowdy, for a brand new fictional crime scene session in Huyton Library. Visitors to the library are invited to challenge their crime solving skills on the fictional crime scene on display and then share their theories on the method and motive at the expert event on Saturday 26 November. The two authors will tell a story inspired by the scene and the two Crime Scene experts will explain how they would approach the scene and what an examination of the clues might reveal about what really happened. There will be a chance to ask the panel questions about crime writing and working with real life crime scene experts and the authors will give a short reading. Cllr Connor, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Public Health, Wellbeing and Customer Services, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Margaret Murphy and Helen Pepper following the success of the fictional crime scene event earlier this year and we are very pleased to announce they will be joined by Mari Hannah and Mo Dowdy for Crime Scene – Call the Experts, which promises to be a really interesting and entertaining morning in Huyton Library. “It’s a great opportunity for any fans of crime drama and fiction to find out more about crime writing and the processes involved with authors working with real crime scene experts.” The Crime author event is a free event but places are limited so book yours now by contacting Huyton Library on 0151 443 3734 or huyton.library@knowsley.gov.uk
