Pudding Club At District House

DISTRICT House has a brand new club, Pudding Club, offering a mouth-watering selection of three cocktails which perfectly complement and accompany three puddings, created as a masterclass by the restaurant’s head bartender and executive chef. And we were fortunate enough to go to the launch. “The puddings and cocktails will have a relationship, they will complement each other, however the cocktails are not revealed until the night of Pudding Club,” explains director Andy Duckworth. “That leaves it open for creativity and for our award-winning head bartender Simon Taylor and executive chef Damien Flynn to work together and co-ordinate a trio based on what they believe is the absolute best.” Andy says: “Pudding Club customers will pay just £30 for a three cocktail, three pudding taste experience. It might be a key lime pie, which works beautifully with a particular cocktail, or a treacle pudding which works magically with a bourbon-based drink.” Special dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for in advance, “but we don’t want to give too much away before people come on the night,” adds Andy. “We want them to leave it to the experts, trust their expertise and allow themselves to enjoy being surprised.” The menu for the launch event paired three selected puddings – beetroot panna cotta, goats curd, raspberry, beetroot gel and amaranth; elderflower jelly, lime and cucumber syrup; and peanut parfait, aerated chocolate and cherries – with three cocktails: gin, raspberry, basil, dry vermouth and lemon; ginseng liqueur and elderflower prosecco; and Baileys, chocolate, Chambord and cream – they were all delicious.
