SOUL singer and X Factor finalist Anton Stephans will be performing at District House’s popular Soul Sunday at 2pm on 25th September. Anton has worked as a backing singer to many of music’s biggest stars, including Elton John and in the West End alongside Sinitta, and has swiftly risen to become one of the UK’s most sought-after recording artists, playing to sold-out venues across the country. Influenced by classic Motown, Anita Baker and Luther Vandross, as well as contemporary artists such as Gregory Porter, Anton brought an entire Wembley audience to its feet by putting his own spin on Jennifer Hudson’s blockbuster ‘I am changing,’ and is not only passionate about his music but also Liverpool, where he has performed on numerous times: “I love the city, it’s where I’ve so many old friends. I feel like I’m coming home every time I visit, everyone is so warm and welcoming!” Speaking about the Soul Sunday special which he headlines later in the month, Anton added: “Performing at District House is always such a pleasure, I’ve sung there several times and have enjoyed each show immensely. It’s a fantastic venue and a beautiful space. The size of the room is breathtaking but yet still feels intimate, and means I can really connect with the audience.” District House’s Soul Sundays have quickly established themselves as a popular weekly event, with guests enjoying a traditional Sunday lunch with a pick from slow cooked braised lamb, roasted stripling of beef or 80z chicken supreme served with all the trimmings and a hand-picked selection of bottled and draught beers, wines and cocktails, all set against a backdrop of live soul performances. Pre-booking for Soul Sunday Special with Anton Stephans is highly recommended, call 0151 236 6141 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for table reservations.
