EXHIBITION Centre Liverpool is set to welcome back MCM Liverpool Comic Con on 11-12 March 2017 after the cult entertainment exhibition signed a four-year deal. The sci-fi show was the waterfront venue’s biggest consumer show to date when it first came to the city in March this year. Around 23,000 fans descended on Exhibition Centre Liverpool. MCM Comic Con organisers have confirmed the show will return in March next year and every year after until 2020. It is expected to be even bigger and better, attracting tens of thousands enthusiasts of movies, comics, video games and sci-fi. Gary Burns, European PR and content development, said: “This was the first outing for MCM Comic Con in Liverpool and the reaction from visitors was phenomenal. Thousands of fans got into the true spirit of the event. “If it wasn’t for Exhibition Centre Liverpool we wouldn’t have been able to host the city’s first ever Comic Con, therefore we were never in any doubt that we would bring the event back. Next year’s promises to be even bigger and better.” Fans arrived in their droves to the March event and queued around the venue to enter a world of Cosplay, interactive stalls and computer games. Comic Con is an international event held at several locations including San Diego, Copenhagen and London.
