On Your Bike For A Good Cause

MORE than 3,000 people took to their saddles at the weekend to raise money for charity at the 23rd annual Liverpool Chester Liverpool bike ride.

Cyclists of all ages and abilities descended on Liverpool’s Queensway Tunnel to raise funds for good causes.

The cycle, which had six different routes over four distances ranging from 5 miles to 100 miles, saw a record number of entrants taking part.

The routes took in some of Merseyside and Cheshire’s most picturesque locations including Neston, Wirral and Delamere Forest in the heart of the Cheshire countryside

Event organisers, Pennine Events, had said it was the most successful event to date.

Last year, Pennine Events raised over £26,000 for their sponsored charity Claire House Hospice. They hoped to have raised more than £30,000 this year.

And 2 July has already been set for next year’s Liverpool Chester Liverpool bike ride.
