A LANDMARK bar, restaurant and event space on Water Street will reopen in late June as District House.
Located on the site of the former Newz bar which operated as an ‘Amanzi’ brand for six months, District House is currently undergoing structural changes and improvements that will see an event space for 600 and seating for up to 400 including a unique bar and restaurant concept.
Directors of Know Restaurants Water St, Steven Hesketh and Andrew Duckworth are the joint management behind the project and they recruited the services of leading north-west branding agency Black & Ginger to create and develop the brand.
Agency head Alex Frech said: “Based on one of the founding ‘H’ streets of Liverpool, Water Street formerly Bank Street is steeped in history and heritage for both trade and business. District House celebrates the revitalisation of this area and is a places it in good company with other established and new coming eateries and venues.”
District House is amongst several high-profile openings in the area by independent businesses including Santa Maluco out of the Graffiti Spirits’ stable and Nisha Katona’s Mowgli, all opening on the same street soon.
