LIVERPOOL residents and visitors can experience a summer evening like never before as Merseytravel launches its latest programme of Mersey Ferry Summer Evening Cruises. Beginning on Thursday 16 June and running throughout June, July and August the summer evening cruises will give passengers the chance to see a different side to Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage waterfront, as they take in the views from a vantage point on the water as the sun sets. All this can be enjoyed with a drink and hot and cold food from the ferry’s fully licensed bar, plus live music performed by local musicians, making it the perfect way to relax and enjoy a summer evening in Liverpool. Gary Evans, Head of Service at Merseytravel said: “Our Summer Evening Cruises were hugely popular last year and we are delighted to welcome them back to this year’s programme of events on the River Mersey. “Whether you are visiting Liverpool for a few days, are new to the city or have lived here all your life, the evening cruises offer a new way to see Liverpool’s most stunning views and architecture, with fabulous entertainment to make this a trip with a difference. “It’s the perfect way to spend a leisurely summer evening, with family, friends or work colleagues.” Liverpool’s waterfront boasts a unique range of culture, history and heritage. The UNESCO World Heritage site is a major tourism draw and contributes significantly to the overall visitor economy, which is worth in excess of £3.6 billion and attracts more than 59 million visitors a year.
