WITH summer on its way, The Baltic Triangle’s newest addition FINCA is preparing to fire up the grill and launch its BBQ menu whilst raising money for a great cause in the process. The Cuban street food eatery located in the Botanical Gin Garden will introduce its full BBQ menu during National BBQ Week on Saturday 4 June with delicious new items including pollo assado – mojo chicken thighs, Moros Y Cristianos – rice and black beans, and baby back ribs with a guava BBQ sauce. FINCA is teaming up with Claire House Children’s Hospice for the launch, with a percentage of profits raised on the day being donated to the local charity and helping with the hugely important work that they do in the local area. The new BBQ menu items add to FINCA’s already substantial street food offering which includes cubanos – traditional hearty Cuban sandwiches, mariquitas – crunchy plantain crisps and bunuelos, Cuban style donuts. Oli Smith, chef and co-founder of FINCA, says: “We can’t wait to stoke up the fire and introduce our BBQ menu to the city! In my opinion, there’s nothing better than kicking back with a beer in the sun and enjoying freshly barbecued food with friends – this will be possible every weekend throughout the summer at the Botanical Gin Garden. We’re also thrilled to team up with Claire House Children’s Hospice – it’s a great cause and we aim to raise as much money as possible for the charity.” Mark Pearson, Events Fundraising Manager, says: “Claire House helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full. We help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher. We are the children’s hospice for Liverpool and Merseyside and have a dream to be there for every family that needs us, which makes fundraising events in the community so important.” FINCA is currently two months into a seven-month residency at Botanical Gin Garden on New Bird Street in The Baltic Triangle.
