LFC Ladies Visit St John Bosco Arts College

TWO players from Liverpool Football Club have visited St John Bosco Arts College in Croxteth. Martha Harris and Rosie White visited the school ahead of sixth form students’ trip to Dubai in a few weeks’ time. They led a Q&A where students quizzed the footballers about life on tour and their careers so far. Student Jamielah Benjamin, says: “It was nice to meet the ladies from the women’s team. The advice and experience they shared made us think this could be us one day.” Students from the LFC Foundation College at St John Bosco will be jetting off for a once in a lifetime trip to Dubai in a few weeks. The girls, led by sport tutor Stacey McMahon, will travel to Dubai to play football against two Dubai schools, take in the world famous sights and Middle Eastern culture. Football is the most popular sport in Dubai and the UAE and is widely played in schools. Women’s football is also on the rise with the new UAE FA IPIC Women’s Football League launching last year. Hot on the heels of England’s success at the Women’s World Cup – in which England finished third – the women’s game has never been bigger. 21 students will be taking part in the trip, who all have aspirations of leading a career in sport; whether that’s through playing or coaching. The girls are excited to play against international opposition and fly the flag for Liverpool.
