IT’S Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 6th, time to give your dear mum a day off from the dishes and treat her to a slap up meal. And what better excuse to get together with the family for some fine dining?

Luckily, there is no shortage of eateries in Liverpool offering some fabulous deals for Mother’s Day. Here is just a handful of what’s on offer…


Roll up! Roll up! Be wined, dined and entertained this Mother’s Day at Circo at the Albert Dock. Treat your mum to a three-course lunch for just £25 this Mothering Sunday whilst enjoying entertainment from Circo’s cabaret singer in the afternoon. A free glass of fizz for all mums is also included in the price.


Treat your mum to a delicious three-course meal for just £25 per person at Marcos this Mother’s Day. To start choose from creamy white onion soup, smoked salmon and prawn terrine, chicken liver parfait or crispy halloumi with braised lentils. Tuck into a main course of roast sirloin beef, rosemary roasted leg of lamb, pan fried sea bass or mushroom and goat’s cheese pithivier. To finish, choose from a section of local cheeses, banana brûlée, rhubarb and custard trifle or chocolate and orange cheesecake.

Blake’s Restaurant

On Sunday, March 6, the popular Beatles-inspired restaurant Blakes will treat mums to an exclusive three-course meal. Guests can choose from a selection of starters such as Chicken Liver and Goats Cheese Croquette with Caramelized Red Onion and Cranberry Jam or Crayfish Cocktail. Mains include Brisket of Herefordshire Beef, Creamed Mashed Potato, Red Wine Jus and Crisp Onion and Bacon and Twice Cooked Plaice in a Warm Tarte Sauce with Pearl Potatoes. Those with a sweet tooth can then choose from an array of indulgent desserts.

The Mother’s Day menu is priced at £24.95 per person.

Carringtons Catering

Renowned North West catering company Carringtons is set to serve a meal fit for a queen at The Floral Pavilion this Mother’s Day.

Devised by Master Chef of Great Britain Darren Wynn, the menu is ideal for families wanting to share a fabulous feast at the Wirral-based venue.

With the option of two or three courses, the specially selected menu includes starters of Parfait of Chicken Livers, served with Tomato Relish and Brioche Toast, Roast Pork, Apricot and Leek Stuffing, Apple Compote with Traditional Accompaniments and Old English Custard Tart with Nutmeg Ice Cream.

The Mother’s Day menu is priced at £24.50 per person for two courses and £28.50 for three. Children’s prices range from £20.50- £24.50.

Delifonseca Dockside

Delifonseca Dockside is giving the city’s mums a day off this Mother’s Day.

The restaurant and deli located at Brunswick Dock will give diners the chance to get mum ‘brekkie’ for that one day of the year with their popular Mothering Sunday breakfast menu.

For those with an early appetite, guests will receive a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a special starter of Bircher Muesli oats soaked in apple juice topped with fresh berries, nuts, yoghurt and honey. Diners can then choose from a selection of dishes including, Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs on Toast, Eggs Florentine, the Delifonseca Breakfast or a warm croissant with raspberry and vanilla jam.

The Mother’s Day Breakfast at Delifonseca Dockside is priced at £19.50 per person.

Fonseca’s Stanley Street

To show leading ladies how much they’re loved, Fonseca’s Stanley Street will showcase two Mother’s Day sittings, ideal for mums, grans and aunts who want to enjoy either an early or late lunch.

Available at 12.30pm and 3.30pm, guests will enjoy a Peach Bellini or Kir Royale on arrival followed by a three course feast. Starters include Cheshire Smokehouse Duck Breast complete with Orange and Hazelnut salad; Roast Shoulder of Cumbrian Spring Lamb served with all the Trimmings and Baileys Chocolate Truffle.

The Mother’s Day menu at Fonseca’s Stanley Street is priced at £29.95 per person with a £10 non-refundable deposit per person required upon booking.

The Italian Club

Multi-award winning The Italian Club (main picture) in Bold Street is offering all mums a free dessert with their food on Mother’s Day to celebrate the occasion. Co-owner and executive head chef Maurizio Pelligrini pictured with his mum and partner Rosaria Crolla along with sister Gabriella knows that the way to his mother’s heart is through sweetness.

He said: “My mum back in Italy taught me how to cook and the importance of a great dessert…it’s why we have so many cake and dessert options in The Italian Club! This year’s Mother’s Day offer was actually her suggestion because she feels we can give something back to all the great mums out there in Liverpool!”
