Bold Street’s Newest Pizza, Pasta, Beer Destination Has Opened Its Doors

CRUST on Bold Street in Liverpool City Centre has opened its doors.

The new venture from the minds behind Il Forno, Manzo and P&D’s Deli has welcomed more than 1000 customers in its first 48-hours of trade.

Hungry locals flocked to the Bold Street site to sample Crust’s star dish – pizza, just as its name suggests.

Restaurant-goers can expect an extensive menu of around 30 pizza and calzone varieties, 15 fresh handmade pasta dishes, as well as classic starters such as homemade bruschetta and cheeses and meats imported from Italy, plus a selection of burgers off the grill, sides and salads.

All those carbs will be washed down with a large selection of craft beers.

Vegetarians are well catered to and, if nothing on the menu takes your fancy, you can even customise your own perfect pizza. All pizzas can be made using gluten-free, organic, five grain or a special black dough.

That’s not to forget the desserts – the Double Chocolate Dare, handcrafted sweet ravioli filled with a decadent chocolate sauce, is one not to miss.

Cocktails, wines, spirits are also available, as is a full brunch menu. Porridge, breakfast bowls and savory cooked breakfasts along with authentic Italian coffee will be served from 7am.

The centrepiece of the brand-new restaurant is its Marana – the Rolls-Royce of authentic Italian wood fire pizza ovens – set in an open kitchen.

The special construction of these superior ovens means that, combined with the specialty ingredients Crust will import from Italy, each pizza will be crafted to perfection – not dissimilar from those you’d find on the streets of Naples or pizzerias of Rome.

Crust’s setting will be modern meets contemporary, fitting around 130 covers over two floors, and acting as a great meeting spot for large groups wanting casual eats and cold beer or even business meetings between brunch.

Crust co-owner Paolo Cillo said: “Italian cuisine is really booming in Liverpool at the moment, so we’re really excited to add Crust to the mix. We do feel that it’s the perfect time to introduce a little bit more of Italy to buzzing Bold Street.

“We have kept things simple with Crust – it’s all about focusing on Italy’s two star dishes, pizza and pasta. The setting, although influenced by rustic Italy, will be vibrant, casual and little bit quirky, so that’s where the decision to make beer the beverage of choice fits in.

“We’ve had a great first few days so far and look forward to welcoming more and more guests with open arms – and a fired-up pizza oven!”

Crust opens in the unit that was formerly House and is open from 7am until late.
