New President For Law Society

ALISON Lobb was today appointed by Liverpool Law Society as its new President. Alison is a well-known character in legal circles in the North West and is Managing Partner of prominent Liverpool law firm, Morecrofts Solicitors. As well as fulfilling the demanding role of Managing Partner, Alison continues to undertake specialist and complex litigation work including negligence cases on behalf of young children who have been failed by the care system.  Alison also supervises the firm’s Personal Injury department and is accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as a Senior Litigator, reflecting her skill and experience in Personal Injury work. Alison was named Solicitor of the Year 2015 by popular acclaim by the membership of Liverpool Law Society and awarded Downtown in Business Professional Of the Year at the Women in Business Awards 2015. Outside of work Alison enjoys playing league tennis and for many years has been Chair of Mersey Bowmen Tennis Club, the oldest tennis club in Liverpool and one of the oldest in the world. As well as tennis, Alison enjoys swimming, quizzes, walking, skiing and wildlife, as well as watching most sports. She is also deputy chair of North Liverpool Citizens’ Advice Bureau. Speaking today about her appointment, Alison said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as President of Liverpool Law Society. Morecrofts Solicitors has a long tradition of Presidents and involvement with the Society, and I am delighted to be continuing with that, and thank my partners for their ongoing support. Next year is set to be a busy one with big changes in the City Region as well as the International Festival for Business, on top of the many national issues affecting the future of the legal profession; and I expect to be very busy working with society members on some very exciting projects, and representing the lawyers of Merseyside both within the city, and on the national stage.”
