PUTTING the beat into your Halloween celebrations, the world-famous Batala Mersey will be making a special spooky performance at Albert Dock on the scariest night of the year – Saturday, October 31. Batala Mersey has been bringing the carnival sound to Liverpool for the last decade, having played to huge crowds at the likes of Brouhaha and Brazilica. This Halloween, it will be Albert Dock’s turn to host these world-famous musicians – albeit with a creepy theme! Expect to find musical zombies, skeletons, ghosts and ghouls on parade! Sue Grindrod, chief executive Albert Dock Liverpool, said: “We are delighted Batala Mersey have chosen Albert Dock as the place to put on their Halloween spooktacular. It promises to be a fun and exciting performance, so we invite everyone to bring their families along to the Dock, wrap up warm and enjoy the carnival atmosphere.” One of the half term highlights includes Tate Liverpool’s mega Neon Drawing Disco (October 26-29), giving the whole family the chance to create their own party room with unique designs in UV light, and invisible drawings that come to life under the party light. This paint party also includes a funky soundscape to boogie and bop along to as you paint a funky art extravaganza. The Big Draw: Every drawing tells a story exhibition, at the Beatles Story, takes place throughout the whole half term week – a free workshop which gives you the chance to share memories, thoughts and feelings about the greatest band in music history through art. The bars, restaurants and cafés around the Dock are also joining in on the autumnal fun next week. Roll up to Circo with the children and they will receive a goody bag containing an animal mask, spin top and temporary circus tattoo with each meal, plus a free ice-cream sundae with two toppings! Both Blue Bar and Grill and PanAm Bar and Restaurant have kids-eat-free offers with every paying adult between 11am and 5pm. And the Dock’s newest arrival, Ziferblat, will be running an adult and children colouring competition in their cosy and homely space where you could be in with the chance of winning free Zifertime! Half term isn’t just for the kids, Revolution at Albert Dock will be running a ‘Beware of the Kraken’ themed weekend which will include a spooky happy hour with 2-4-1 cocktails on Friday, October 30 (5-7pm). Also available is the Kraken limed-edition rum with special cocktails, free canapés and Halloween décor all weekend. And back by popular demand is Carneval at Circo – a terrifying and unforgettable dinner show on Halloween night. Book if you dare by calling 0151 709 0470. Batala Mersey will be performing from 8-9pm, on Saturday, October 31, at various locations around the Dock.
