Liverpool Comedy Cellar at The Magnet celebrates its first birthday this Saturday 12 September
After a short summer break Liverpool Comedy Cellar returns this Saturday night, just in time to celebrate its first birthday at its home The Magnet on Hardman Street ( voted by The Guardian as the best venue in Liverpool).
Liverpool Comedy Cellar continues to offer the very best from the international comedy circuit. This season’s line up includes stars from TV Gary Delaney (Mock The Week), Rob Rouse (8 Out Of 10 Cats) and Funmbi Omotayo (The John Bishop Show) as well as international comedians Tom Stade (Canada), Sully O’Sullivan (New Zealand) and Christian Schulte-Loh (Germany).
Liverpool Comedy Cellar’s opening night kicks off with a double headline bill from musical comedian Rob Deering (Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks) and the very charming Irishman Andrew Ryan (Russell Howard’s Good News), The show will be hosted by Liverpool comedian Ste Porter.
Husband and wife team Val Brady and Brendan Riley are the driving force behind this venture. Together they run Big Comedy UK which also produces the annual Southport Comedy Festival. Brendan Riley, has over 20 years experience in the industry, both as a comedian and promoter while Val Brady was the Booker at the Rawhide Comedy Club and the Liverpool Comedy Festival for over 10 years.
Val said: “We are so happy to be hosting our comedy nights at this fantastic venue one year on, it has proved really popular with audiences and comedians alike with its low ceilings and intimate setting.”
