WITH summertime comes wedding fever.
It always brings such a wonderful atmosphere and we are so proud to be a part of the start of such a wonderful journey for so many.
Even though in recent years the trend of getting married abroad has risen, there are still a lot of people who opt to stay home, saving on budget and putting less pressure on guests to travel a long way.
In hospitality, weddings are big business, in fact in the UK alone they are worth £10 billion, so as professionals, we have to get it right.
We actually booked our first wedding in at Love Thy Neighbour on Bold Street recently. I am delighted to be able to offer smaller venues as well as large ones. Many couples don’t care for a large audience and prefer to celebrate with just close family and friends.
Luckily, in Liverpool, there are plenty of fantastic venues.

Meanwhile, here are a few of my top tips for you when looking for a perfect wedding venue;
Consider your numbers
It’s never too early to start looking at venues once you’re engaged – it should be something you enjoy and don’t rush or feel pressured to do.
Estimate how many people you expect to invite, both to the ceremony and reception. This will help you when it comes to budgeting, and will save any unexpected surprises!
Think about the big picture
Not only do you want the prefect venue, you also need to consider how it will look in photographs.
At The Richmond in Hatton Garden, we are lucky to have beautiful architecture and fantastic room dressers. It makes a huge difference to your memories.
Make a date
Don’t be scared to ask venues to provisionally book in dates. If someone else enquires about that date, a good wedding co-ordinator will ensure you are notified so you can look at options.
If you are looking at less than 12 months down the line, many venues will be quite full, so be prepared to be flexible if need be.
No matter what your ideas for your wedding day are, always ask. The venue you choose and the staff there play a huge part in shaping your day, so it’s important that from the outset, we understand your vision.
Our new neighbour

THE Richmond Hotel has become the first in Liverpool to offer a GP service to guests and staff.
Working with The GP Service, we can now offer immediate appointments with a GP. This is very good for guests at the hotel if they are feeling unwell, and we are adding it to our list of benefits to staff in our venues, so they can see a doctor quickly if required.
The technology works through an iPad, which is in a private space. There is also equipment available for checking blood pressure and other things guests may need.
